Do you or a loved one keep entering treatment over and over? Do you spend months
working on yourself, graduate rehab successfully, only to fail again months later?
Then you may be a prime candidate for our Dual Diagnosis Treatment
Program.
Our experience, having treated thousands of patients, has demonstrated that many
people have not one problem, but two or more. So, for example, whilst a patient
was getting treated for drug abuse, their depression problem was being ignored.
The solution to this was the creation of our leading edge, Dual Diagnosis Treatment
program, which treats underlying psychological issues along with drug or alcohol
issues.
Dual diagnosis is the term most often used to describe a patient suffering from
two disorders at the same time. Addiction very often has underlying issues such
as depression, anxiety, bi-polar disorder, post traumatic stress disorder, etc.
Both the addiction and the underlying cause require simultaneous, appropriate care
and treatment. A correct diagnosis is therefore vital, if the correct treatments
and therapies are to be put in place. Here, at Sovereign Health of California, our
highly qualified staff has a wealth of experience in this field. After an initial
evaluation and diagnosis, an individual program is tailored to the specific needs
of the client, incorporating clinical therapy, education, group support and holistic
therapies such as acupuncture, massage, yoga, etc.
Dual Diagnosis Treatment: How it works
Dual diagnosis day treatment, along with sober living, is offered at our Sovereign
Health of California Treatment Center in San Clemente. The primary objectives in
treating addiction and dual diagnosis patients in a rehab center are to decrease
those costly, repetitive drug rehab services you may be having and, at the same
time, to address your whole well-being and not just part of the problem. Our multi-disciplinary
team provides an intensive, practical, dual diagnostic treatment modality at our
center, to increase harmony and understanding between the patient, family members,
friends and community.
We are committed to educating patients about aspects of life skills that will enable
them to think conceptually and maintain the ability to think critically after treatment
and for years to come.

When a patient enters into day treatment and sober living at Sovereign Health, treatment
begins with a series of assessments. These assessments will determine the nature
of specific psychological issues and the extent to which these issues will affect
recovery from alcohol or drugs. The initial assessment is reviewed by our expert
clinical team, who will use the results to formulate an individually tailored treatment
program to meet the specific needs of the patient.
After this initial meeting, the patient is seen by the clinical director who will
discuss the issues that need work while in treatment and will explain the treatment
program in detail.
By treating you as a whole person, we can help you get it right the first time and
end the revolving door approach that may be causing you so much lasting pain.
